“Mood music. Magic time.” -HuffPo
“Masterful.” -Medium
“Impressionistic.” – Tucson Weekly

Tucson, Arizona-based multi-instrumentalist and composer Katie Haverly has risen to become “one of the city’s most deeply disciplined and widely beloved singer-songwriters,” says local community radio station KXCI (91.3 FM). While “adroitly navigating rock, pop and folk genres,” per Zocalo Magazine, Haverly says her writing process is closely tied to the spiritual realm, and has become one of channeling energy from and living in communion with the beyond. Her live performances with her band are energetic, sensual, explosive and intimate; it is clear Haverly is truly at home on stage.

Her discography spans eight full-length albums and Haverly has spent the last two years writing and recording her next full-length album “Triangulating Line” which will be released in early 2023. The album grapples with the honest difficulty and tantamount importance of loving and accepting ourselves fully as we are, right now in this moment. It explores how this struggle feels in ourselves, and how it feels when we witness it degrading those we love, and the helplessness that can ensue when experiencing either. But, that there can be profound evolution of consciousness, human design, and planetary healing when more of us can live more moments with a deep belief that we are enough.

ABOUT FEMALE GAZE

Formerly The Rifle, three-piece Female Gaze emerged in March of 2021 after an extended period of reflection. After eight years of releasing music as The Rifle, including three full length albums and multiple tours, DeGuzman decided to shed both psychological and substantive burdens, and emerge with a knife sharp vision of the future. Female Gaze is the clarified embodiment of Nelene’s approach to art and songwriting.

Female Gaze sounds like a slice of sun soaked paradise, weaving psychedelic dreamscapes inspired by their hometown of Tucson, Arizona. Married couple Nelene DeGuzman and Kevin Conklin have long been artistic collaborators, but the addition of Nicky Cobham-Morgese on drums cemented their re-calibrated sound.

“Untethered joy afloat on a sea of pure art.” (Slumbermag, 2021)
